If you are new to using salicylic and lactic acid products, we recommend initially using one twice a week with your night-time routine and then gradually build up frequency.

As always, cleanse first. Our AHA/BHA exfoliant is best applied with a cotton pad. Add the exfoliant to your cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over the entire face, including the eye area (avoid the lower lash line and eyelids). Do not rinse. Then simply follow with the rest of your skincare routine.

It is normal to see a yellowish residue on your cotton pad after wiping.

SALICYLIC ACID

Known in the skincare industry as the “acne destroyer”, salicylic acid is a perfectly oil-soluble beta-hydroxy acid that penetrates past the lipid layer and deeply into our pores.  Once it penetrates the skin, salicylic acid dissolves excess sebum and dead skin cells that clog pores leading to inflammation and breakouts.

Salicylic acid is also considered a keratolytic medication which means that it is the perfect exfoliator.  Keratolytic medications cause softening and sloughing of the top layer of skin cells.

Salicylic acid is the single and most effective treatment for cystic acne but especially black-heads and white-heads.

LACTIC ACID

The use of lactic acid to promote beautiful skin dates back to Ancient Egypt, where legend has it that it was the secret behind Cleopatra’s exceptional beauty.  Lactic acid is a perfectly water soluble alpha-hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates the top layer of the skin while stimulating skin cell turnover, diminishing wrinkles and killing bacteria.

When combined with salicylic acid, it creates a powerful anti-aging and anti-acne liquid exfoliant that leaves a youthful and polished skin texture.

ARGININE

A vital amino acid that stimulates collagen production and protects the skin from free radical damage and premature skin aging.  It also helps repair visible skin damage.  It is currently one of the most popular and well-regarded skincare ingredients in K-beauty.

GINGO BILOBA NUT EXTRACT

Ginkgo biloba has been used in Asian medicine for centuries for both overall health and skincare.  It contains high concentrations of the antioxidants polyphenols and flavonoids. These compounds neutralize free radicals in the skin preventing them from damaging skin cells. Ginkgo biloba also has high amounts of quercetin (a flavonoid) that contains anti-inflammatory properties. It reduces inflammation by inhibiting the production of inflammation-producing enzymes.

BHA & AHA together at 2% is considered by most dermatologists as the best way to unclog pores, reduce acne and scarring due to acne.
