On a cold autumn morning, Ro Myeong Jo was woken up by a disturbing phone call.  Her older sister Ro Myeong Hyun was taken to a hospital following a house fire.  In the early seventies, most South Korean households used coal briquettes to heat their homes, and although economical, these coal briquettes had a bad habit of burning down homes.

Thankfully, Myeong Hyun was alive and expected to fully recover, but she suffered severe second degrees burns all over her face and body.  To Myeong Hyun’s dismay, much of those scars remained through numerous treatments and rehab sessions two years later. 

During a regular visit with her sister, Myeong Jo noticed that the ointments her sister was using for scar healing were not effective, smelled horrible, and was very expensive.  It was then that Myeong Jo had a thought.   At the time Myeong Jo worked as a cosmetic chemist for the largest skincare company in Asia called AmorePacifc.  But she also had extensive knowledge in working with medicinal herbs and plants because her mother was a traditional Doctor of Asian medicine doctor for over 30 years. 

She wondered: what if she could combine her knowledge of cosmetic chemistry and her family’s knowledge of traditional medicine? Could she create something more effective to help her sister heal faster?

It took Myeong Jo a few dozen failures and more than 2 years but in the end, her dream became a reality.  In fact, her formulation proved so effective, Myeong Jo decided to share it with others.

Why Does The Firm & Lift Regeneration Cream Use 15% Sang Hwang (Black Hoof) Mushroom

When Myeong Jo created the very first version of her Firm & Lift Regeneration cream, she knew the exact key ingredient she wanted to start with. The Korean Sang Hwang mushroom, otherwise known as the Black Hoof or Phellinus Linteus mushroom in the US, is a black-yellowish, bitter-tasting mushroom that grows on mulberry trees. In Korea, it has been used to heal various ailments like migraines, abrasions in the skin, and menstrual disorders for over 600 years.
