MQuestion From Indra
Hi Saranghae,
I’ve always been dealing with large pores and occasional breakouts. I would also like to address my skin discoloration and brighten up my skin. I’m interested in your Advanced Pore Minimizing Serum with Niacinamide. Can you tell me if that will help me and could you recommend me a good skincare routine?
Thank you
Indra
Saranghae Recommendation
Hello Indra,
The skin problems you’re currently experiencing are probably the results of cascading events in your skin that have been ongoing for a long time. It starts with having large open pores, which can easily get plugged up by skin debris, environmental toxins, and excess sebum. This, of course, leads to breakouts. As this unholy trinity of grime, dead skin, and sebum excess sebum start to pile on top of each other it disturbs your skin's ability to manage melanin production, which can lead to hyper-pigmentation. And of course, add to this our cycle of exposure to UV light over the seasons doesn’t help.
The Advanced Pore Minimizing Serum with 10% Niacinamide + 1% Glutathione is a great start, but it’s only part of a more comprehensive solution. Niacinamide (known as vitamin B3) is known as one of skincare’s BIG 3 (niacinamide, vitamin C, retinol) and it is known to be the best pore-minimizing corrective on the market in addition to improving uneven skin tone, softening lines and brightening the skin. At 10% it is considered near clinical grade concentration.
Glutathione is an antioxidant and peptide composed of amino acids, cystine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Studies show that glutathione interrupts the enzyme tyrosinase, which is responsible for melanin production, leading to hyperpigmentation.
For maximum benefit, we recommend combining the Advanced Pore Minimizing Serum with our Advanced Brightening & Dark Spot Repair Serum with 25% Vitamin C + 1% Tranexamic Acid.
The ingredients are complimentary with the sum of these ingredients being greater than the parts.
Both products should be part of a comprehensive skincare routine that helps address the above skin concerns you mentionned.
Here’s my recommended 5-step hyper-pigmentation skincare routine (night time):
Step 1: cleanser + brush (proper cleansing and exfoliation can make half the difference)
Step 2: Advanced Brightening & Dark Spot Repair Serum (25% vitamin C)
Step 3: Advanced Pore Minimizing Serum (10% Niacinamide)
Step 4: Orora Bioactive Collagen Serum
Step 5: Orora Bioactive Collagen Cream
For your daytime routine, simply remove the second step, Advanced Brightening & Dark Spot Repair Serum because vitamin C oxidizes when exposed to UV light. You can apply it during the day if you apply sunscreen as your final step.
If you follow the above skincare routine diligently for about 30 to 45 days, you should see visible improvements in pigmentation, overall skin tone, and a brighter-looking complexion. You should also experience fewer breakouts.
I hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to contact us with further questions.Warmest regards
