What is Vitamin C & Why Should You Care?

Topical Vitamin C is a science-backed, dermatologist favorite ingredient that helps slow down skin aging, prevent sun damage and improve dark spots and acne.

Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), is an antioxidant that fights harmful free radicals that come in contact with your skin from an external source like air pollution, or from inside the body as a result of normal biological processes.  Vitamin C has been clinically proven to improve the skin’s overall health and appearance by decreasing free radicals.  Speak to any dermatologist and they will tell you that vitamin C is an essential active ingredient for anti-aging.

The higher the concentration of Vitamin C, the greater the antioxidant absorption rate and the greater the anti-aging effect.  Most brands offer Vitamin C concentrations between 10% to 20% because it is expensive and difficult to stabilize.

BE.SEEN's proprietary extraction and stabilization technology enables us to offer Vitamin C concentration at 23.5%, which is currently the highest topical concentration of Vitamin C in the world.

We are proud to offer you the highest concentration and highest quality pure vitamin C concentrate in the world.

Key Benefits

Clinically Proven To Decrease Hyperpigmentation

Because Vitamin C impedes melanin production, it has been observed to fade dark spots caused by hyperpigmentation.

Hyperpigmentation (including sunspots, age spots, and melasma) occurs when melanin is overproduced in certain areas of the skin. It can also happen in areas where acne has healed.

Vitamin C inhibits melanin synthesis by down regulating the activity of an enzyme known as tyrosinase.  It’s widely used in dermatology for reducing pigemenation of hyperpigmented spots on the skin.

Helps Reduce The Appearance Of Under Eye Circles

Vitamin C concentrates have been observed to help smooth out fine lines by plumping and hydrating the under eye area and brighten dark pigmentation associated with under eye circles.

According to a 2019 study on three treatments for dark circles, vitamin C mesotherapy resulted in a significant improvement in the pigmentation of under-eye circles.

Clinically Proven To Brighten Skin

Vitamin C can help fade pigmentation and smooth the skin's surface to reduce redness resulting in a more vibrant youthful glow.

A 2017 review states that vitamin C use has been shown to impede melanin production (melanin is the pigment responsible for skin color).

By inhibiting melanin production, vitamin C can help fade dark spots and brighten your skin.

Reduce Redness And Even Out Your Skin Tone

According to a 2015 review, antioxidant Vitamin C shows incredible ant-inflammatory effects.

Essentially, this helps calm and sooth inflamed skin and reduce puffiness. It neutralizes free radicals that cause oxidative damage and optimizes our immune system to suppress inflammatory responses in our body.

The anti-inflammatory properties of vitamin C can also help reduce redness, which in turn can create a more even complexion.

The combined reduction of dark spots, redness, and irritation makes for a clear, smooth skin tone.

Helps Heal Skin Wounds And Scarring

Vitamin C accelerates cell turnover, according to a 2017 review

This replaces the damaged cells with healthy new ones which means that Vitamin C speeds up overall wound healing.

Healthy wound healing reduces your risk of inflammation, infection and scarring.

The same study measured that having a deficiency in vitamin C can make wounds take longer to heal.

Protects Against Sun Damage

Excessive exposure to oxidant stress via pollutants or ultraviolet (UV) irradiation is associated with depleted vitamin C levels in the skin.

Vitamin C levels are also lower in more mature or photodamaged skin, though researchers are unsure whether this is a cause or effect.

Sun damage is caused by molecules called free radicals. These are atoms with a missing electron. Free radicals search for other atoms from which they can “steal” an electron — and this can lead to significant damage to the skin.

Vitamin C is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants protect healthy skin cells by “giving” these free radicals an electron, rendering them harmless.

Helps Prevent Wrinkles & Sagging Skin

Collagen production is tied to skin elasticity and firmness.  When your collagen levels begin to drop, your skin may also begin to sag.

Applying a vitamin C serum may boost collagen production, resulting in an overall tightening effect, reports a 2017 review.

This is true for sagging due to natural aging, oxidative stress damage, or extreme weight loss.  This means it can help reduce the appearance of sagging skin, making your skin look firmer and more toned.

Why Did We Decide To Partner With BE.SEEN?

In January of 2020, my Director of Business Development in Korea introduced me to Jason Doo, the CEO of a small skincare company named BE.SEEN. The reason? Jason had just perfected a methodology to stabilize vitamin C concentration in serum as high as 23.5%.

Vitamin C concentration at 23.5%? I WAS SHOCKED!

Currently, no brand in North America offers vitamin C concentration greater than 20%.  And 20% itself is rare. Most brands offer a vitamin C concentrate at 10% to 15%.

Vitamin C or L-ascorbic acid is unstable at room temperature and will oxidize very quickly. The lower the concentration, the easier it is to stabilize Vitamin C. In fact, it becomes exponentially more difficult to stabilize Vitamin C past 15% concentration. That is why most brands offer Vitamin C concentrates around 10% to 15%. Costs rise dramatically as the concentration rises past 15%. For example, the price of a 30ml bottle of 15% vitamin C with ferulic acid from Skinceuticals is $182 US retail.

The BE.SEEN extraction and stabilization process enables us to offer a 23.5% Vitamin C concentration at a much lower cost than any other brand. Not only was I impressed with the product itself, but I was also drawn to Jason’s character and his passion for his work.

Jason is a middle-aged Korean family man with more than 20 years of experience in the skincare industry. He is gracious, humble, and a walking skincare encyclopedia. His enthusiasm for his product and his honest business ethics convinced me that I wanted to share the BE.SEEN Pure 23.5% Vitamin C Concentrate with my skincare aficionados (that’s you!).

Of course, we have been testing this product for over a year now. It is an incredible product that is now part of the daily skincare regimen for all of our team members. We love it, and we are 100% confident that you will fall in love with this product too.

I am proud to present to you the BE.SEEN 23.5% Pure Vitamin C Concentrate, the world’s highest concentration of pure vitamin C.

Best Vitamin C Product I've Ever Tried

I've tried a variety of different brands' vitamin C serums and this is by far my favorite. It absorbs quickly and I've already seen a noticeable difference in the brightness of my skin since I began testing it about a month ago.

Such An Amazing Product!

The folks at Saranghae asked me to test out a new vitamin C product so I said yes.  They've never steered me wrong so I was excited to give it a try.  I was looking for a vitamin C prodcut anyway. WOW!  This 23.5% vitamin C is a game changer for me.

I am 61 and have sunspots and have tried so many pricey serums and treatments that I've lost count.  This stuff is the real deal, I keep looking thinking I'm missing something that the spots can be lightening so much, but they are 🙌🏽 so give this a try, you won't regret it. I have sensitive skin and rosacea and no issues

It Doesn't Get Better Than This.

After just a couple uses I noticed a reduction of fine lines and hyperpigmentation/spots--overall it truly brightened my face and evened my skin tone.

Despite having sensitive and dry skin, I was able to immediately incorporate it into my morning routine without any issues. My face is much brighter and smoother when I use it regularly!

I used to use the SKinceuticals Vitamin C, and it was ok, but I wasn't a fan of the smell.  But this Vitamin C serum doesn't smell at all, literally a quarter of the price and works way better for me.

Highly recommend!!
